If you're wondering why I'm not posting new work is because, I'm refusing to post stuff that I haven't finished. And I'm done with doing "speedies" or studies. I'm constantly trying to improve my portfolio and one of the methods is taking every image to a final product state that actually calls the attention and sustains by itself without any other comments on the side.
It's way less satisfactory but I believe that we "artists", these days are getting too caught up in the loop of creating "social media presence", which works for some people, but for those who are still in development, such as myself, is a huge waste of energy and a fountain of frustrations. The benefits are superfluous and fast consuming, creating a hit of pleasure, fake fulfillment and an ego boost, that can drive you into addiction without noticing.
In the "old days" I used to close my Facebook account for some months to counter these feelings and urges but these days I'm related to a lot of people that actually contacts me through this media and is the only reason why I'm keeping it open.
So I know not many of you follow me, but for those who are wondering, I'm still working hard every day and I'm constantly updating my portfolio and asking those who are more experienced than me for feedback and critics on my work.
Sorry for the useless post and thanks to those who have helped me in these times of never ending polishing.
This was originally posted in Facebook but it applies as well in DA as it maintains a state of public gallery instead of portfolio.
